The engineers at KES Engineering is well experienced in the Design of State-of-the-Art Science and Technology buildings such as university laboratory facilities, industrial research facilities, and mission critical New Computer Rooms.

Our engineering services experience for these facilities include mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, fire alarm, and communication systems designs and construction period services.

WSSC Consolidated Laboratory

KES Engineers provided HVAC, Plumbing and Fire protection systems design and specifications for this new state-of-the-art laboratory facility of approximately 20,000 sq. ft. with a construction budget of $10 million.

The design included multiple central heating and cooling VAV air handling units with energy recovery wheel, four-pipe hydronic system, medium pressure distribution ductwork, terminal VAV air valves with reheat coils, and low-pressure distribution ductwork. The design also included laboratory exhaust and laboratory control system for VAV fume hoods.

Delaware State University Science Building, Dover

KES Engineers provided HVAC systems design and specifications and construction period services for this new state-of-the-art teaching laboratory facility of approximately 65,000 sq. ft. with a construction budget of $25 million.
The design included multiple central heating and cooling VAV air handling units, energy recovery heat exchanger, four-pipe hydronic system, medium pressure distribution ductwork, terminal VAV boxes with reheat coils, and low-pressure distribution ductwork. The design also included laboratory exhaust and laboratory control system for VAV fume hoods.

Bowie State University Science and technology Building, Bowie, MD

KES Engineers provided HVAC systems design and specifications for this new technology building on the campus of Bowie State University.
Project involved energy evaluation of three alternative mechanical systems complying with the Maryland Department of General Services guidelines; selection, design and specification of new mechanical systems for new science building of approximately 140,000 sq. ft. and construction cost of $35 million.
