Principals

Principal involvement is a key way KES Engineering ensures quality engineering services provided to our clients’ satisfaction.  Currently, there are two principals for the firm, Kesuith Smith and Ronaldo Mojica.  They directly provide engineering services on each of the firm’s projects.  They are also actively involved in the daily operations of the business.

Mr. Smith, a Howard University graduate, started the company in June 1998. He has over 30 years of experience in the design of mechanical systems for buildings and utilities. He is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers. Mr. Smith’s responsibilities include but are not limited to overseeing staffing, quality control, coordination, and scheduling. He directs engi­neering designs, energy studies, analyses, and construction administration. He has managed many projects as the Principal-in-Charge and brings technical knowledge to projects ranging from high-tech offices to academic buildings, multifamily housing, and utility plants.

Mr. Mojica, a Registered Professional Engineer in the state of Maryland has 18 years of experience in the design of electrical systems for buildings and utilities. He is a member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology and the Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers. His experience includes numerous projects involving high voltage and low voltage network designs, electrical systems analysis, energy utilization studies, power generation systems design, lighting design solutions, life safety, and security systems, dilapidation survey and facility assessment, and construction management. His extensive experience includes high and low voltage systems design, equipment selections, value engineering, electrical power/lighting distributions (indoor and outdoor), lightning protection system design, short circuit analysis, fire alarm system design, public address system design, security system design and telephone system design.
